whose commitment, professionalism and
sense of service should be highlighted.
What is your roadmap today
and what are the main issues
that concern you?
With my teams, we support the railway
subsidiaries in their development with
a focus on improv ing organi zat ion ,
productivity and results. We believe that
the railway world's added value lies in
its economic performance rather than
in its purely financial profitability. This
is what makes the railway ecosystem
so special: it offers a major societal
contribution accompanied by a relatively
small ecological footprint. So now we
are looking for a balance between this
financial profitability obligation and the
improvement of the rolling stock.
In this sense, we support the major
mode rn iz a t ion work s on t he r a i l
networks for which the Bolloré Group
is the concession holder. This is why we
are working with the Cameroon State,
which is committed to the rehabilitation
of 567 km of lines over six years through
its second five-year plan.
In addition to facilitating the transit of
goods and passengers over nearly 900 km,
this investment represents a strategic
economic link with neighbouring countries
(Chad, Central African Republic and, to a
lesser extent, the Congo). Rail can breathe
new life into the economies of cities that
are not served by roads. Furthermore,
we cultivate a close relationship with
local communities, which we involve and
employ to carry out some of the work and
who maintain the network.
In the bi-national SITARAIL concession,
work is currently underway to rehabilitate
a large part of the 1,150 km network.
To achieve this, we rely primarily on the
local expertise of our subsidiaries, which
we are committed to maintaining and
developing. This is what we have done
at SITARAIL by creating a college for
railway professions (Ecole Supérieure des
Métiers Ferroviaires) that trains young
people every year. Through these actions,
the group continues to develop its social
footprint with a view to improving the
well-being of local communities and its
employees.

* Bolloré Energy: oil distribution
We are vigilant in developing the skills
of our businesses with extensive training
programmes in our main areas.
Finally, we place great importance on the
social and environmental dimension with
a strong commitment to numerous causes
(ecology, health, diversity, inclusion, etc.)
that mobilize all our employees.
On a more personal level, what do
you remember from your studies?
I took full advantage of the excellent
courses. The school primarily prepared
me for this managerial dimension, which
I grasped very early in my career. I also
great ly benefi ted from the teaching
provided by the high-level professors and
professionals who are experts in their field
of activity. Finally, ESCP gave me a taste
for learning and deepening my knowledge.
