BREXIT - IT'S NOT AN AU REVOIR
January 31th, 2020 was a very special day for ESCP
46 years ago, we took our first steps in the UK, at a time when it
was strengthening its links for a joint destiny with Continental
Europe. You will find the full story here.
As London Campus Dean Simon Mercado wrote we enter a
dazing and confusing period. This is exactly what we call a
VUCA world, the world in which we are preparing our students
to thrive. So let's jump into it with optimism.
This is not by far the end of ESCP's British journey! We voted
"remain" 3 years ago and in 2018 our London Campus lifted
the Business School of the Year trophy at the Times Higher
Education Awards. We will continue to grow and develop, being
at the same time a truly UK institution, a European beachhead
at the heart of London, and a bridge to Europe, in keeping with
our very unique model.
The School's management is closely working with national and
European authorities, and nothing will change for this and for
the next generations of students. Consult official statements

Last but not least: all MIM students, including those coming
from the London Campus, will converge next month to the
European Parliament in Brussels to attend the yearly seminar
called from now on: "Designing Europe"!
Official statements
The UK is due to leave the EU on 31 January 2020.
The Withdrawal Agreement (setting out the terms of the UK's
exit) provides for a post-Brexit transition period starting from
the 31 January 2020 and ending on 31 December 2020.
Throughout this transition period, there will be no change to
the immigration status of EU students studying in London at

our London Campus or at U.K. based partner institutions. Your
right of entry and full set of rights as an EU citizen in the U.K
are unaffected until the end of this transition period.
EU nationals applying for courses beginning in the U.K. prior
to 31 December 2020 (e.g. in September 2020) are able to apply
on exactly the same terms as in previous years. There will be
no requirement for a study visa or any other changes of a legal
nature for those commencing courses prior to the end of the
transition period.
EU nationals planning to study on our London Campus during
the Academic Year 2020/21 but entering the U.K after January
2021 are not expected to require a study visa. The Government
will shortly finalise its position in such cases but no restrictions
are anticipated.
EU nationals who already live in the UK are able to apply for
the U.K. Government's Settlement Scheme. EU nationals who
arrive in the UK by 31 December 2020 with intention to remain
will also be able to apply. The deadline for applying is set to be
30 June 2021. They will be able to be granted either settled status
or pre-settled status.
The settled status enables EU nationals having lived continuously in the UK for at least five years to live, work and study in
the UK for as long as they like. EU nationals having lived in the
UK for less than five years will be able to apply for pre-settled
status, which will allow them to meet the five-year residency
requirement needed to apply for settled status. Those eligible
can apply here.

MANUTAN CONCLUT UN MÉCÉNAT AVEC ESCP BUSINESS SCHOOL
ET LA FONDATION ESCP POUR PRÉPARER L'ENTREPRISE DE DEMAIN
Ce nouveau partenariat n'est pas le fruit du hasard. En effet,
depuis un an Manutan est en discussion avec ESCP afin de bâtir
ce partenariat qui consiste en plusieurs initiatives.
Ainsi de mai à décembre 2019, Manutan a été accompagnée
notamment par ESCP pour valoriser les « Leaders of tomorrow »,
un programme de 20 mois conçu pour le développement des
talents internes. Ce programme, dont certains modules ont été
co-construits avec et co-pilotés par ESCP, visait à challenger
collectivement et individuellement des collaborateurs en leur
confiant un projet de direction générale. L'école est ainsi intervenue à l'occasion du kick-off dans ses locaux pour soutenir le

contenu pédagogique et a organisé la « learning expedition » à
ESCP Berlin avec les 20 talents du programme.
Parmi la centaine d'électifs proposés aux étudiants du programme « Grande Ecole » du MiM (Master in Management),
figure le cours « Design Thinking ». Un cours de 30h dont la
promotion 2020 lancée le 15 janvier l'est désormais avec le
soutien de Manutan.
Ce cours est porté par le Département Entrepreneuriat de ESCP
et l'Institut Jean-Baptiste Say.
