Processing a long bamboo fibre/bio-based matrix biocomposite Focus Assystem Group is an international engineering and innovation consulting company present in 20 countries with 12,000 employees. For 50 years, it has supported the world's largest engineering projects and provided solutions to their customers' most technical industrial issues. The research and development of more efficient materials and processes is the core business of Assystem's materials department. This department currently has 140 employees, providing support to about twenty customers for their R&D and qualification activities (Figure 1). Fig.8 : Humidity uptake (55% RH), the biocomposite's weight increases by 5% after 5 days of exposure and then increases very slowly. Under more severe conditions (86% RH), it increases by 9.5%. In all cases, water absorption is very fast during the first 5 days of exposure and then continues to progress very slowly. the biocomposite's modulus is 7% lower than the phenolic composite's modulus and its strength is 46% higher. Tensile and flexural tests Tensile tests were performed on a biocomposite and a phenolic composite at the research laboratory, showing that Flexural tests according to EN 2562 were conducted on three specimens, showing that the strength levels of the biocomposite are equivalent to the These results will be investigated because the biocomposite is a unidirectional composite and the phenolic composite is an impregnated fabric. strength of the composites used in cabin interiors. Conclusions The results achieved on the PA NG/long bamboo fibres biocomposite are encouraging. The company's main customers in the aeronautics and automotive sectors are interested by this material and plan to use it in unloaded composite parts.
