launching of a partnership to explore the
establishment of a joint venture company in
Saudi Arabia to develop carbon nanostructure materials for a variety of end markets and
applications.

Under a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Sabic and Lockheed
Martin will coordinate on the development, industrial validation, testing, scale-up,
production and sale of carbon nanostructure
materials and carbon nanostructure infused
products.

Nordex invests up to EUR 50 million
to strengthen its rotor blade capabilities
This investment will initially involve the
expansion and modernisation of its own
plant in Rostock. The other half of the
funds will be channelled into a long-term
"built-to-print" strategy with international
partners to harness the cost advantages of
their international production facilities. This
is because more than 80 percent of all turbines which Nordex installs for its customers
go on line in countries outside Germany.

Dassault announces ultra long range
Falcon 8X
Dassault Aviation launched the Falcon 8X,
the newest addition to the Falcon family in
the ultra long range category. With eight passengers and three crew, the Falcon 8X will be
capable of flying 6,450 nm non-stop at M.80.
It will be powered by an improved version
of the Pratt and Whitney Canada PW307
engine that equips the Falcon 7X. Combined
with improvements to wing design, the new
power plant will make the 8X up to 35%
more fuel efficient than any other aircraft in
the ultra-long range segment, affording a corresponding savings in operating costs.

Formax officially open its new automotive production facility
Formax, the manufacturer of carbon fibre
and speciality composite reinforcements,
officially open their 5,000m² automotive production facility at the company's headquarters in Leicestershire.

XWB takes off on its first
passenger flight as part of
ongoing evaluations

designated MSN002. Airbus experimental
test pilots are at the flight controls, while a
crew from Air France tends to the passengers
- made up of Airbus employees selected in
recognition of strong work performance. The
Air France crew was trained to operate the
A350 XWB's cabin - including public address
systems, galleys and safety equipment - prior
to this test activity. Questionnaires to be filled
out by passengers and crew will provide valuable feedback on such qualities as noise, air
flow, comfort and ergonomics, as well as the
A350 XWB's many new cabin features - including its LED lighting system and in-flight
entertainment.
