Zhongfu Lianzhong: no lack of ambition
With the tremendous growth of the wind energy sector in recent
years, the landscape has changed considerably. As the sector
becomes organized at the international level and global players
appear on the scene, many companies have disappeared – generally speaking, the smallest and least successful ones. This has
also been the case in China, where only fifteen companies or so,
including Zhongfu Lianzhong, currently lead the pack.

Through its research, design, production and service activities for composite products, the company soon
developed into a key national enterprise, producing mainly pipes, tanks,

In 2005, 18 years after it was founded,
the company launched into the wind
energy sector with all the force of
its group. After importing a 1.5MW
rotor blade production line and the
corresponding technology from
Germany in 2005, Zhongfu Lianzhong pursued continuous technical
innovation.
Many of its technologies and products filled a gap in the domestic
market. In January 2007, following
the purchase of leading rotor-blade
production and research company
NOI, Zhongfu Lianzhong established
SINOI in Germany as its overseas
R&D centre. Another R&D team operating in China worked closely with
the German team. The acquisition of
NOI allowed Zhongfu Lianzhong to
manufacture ten types of megawatt
(MW) rotor blades with about 20
production lines. In December 2007,
the company successfully produced
its 1,000th MW-grade rotor blade
under the LZ Blade brand, becoming
a leading rotor blade company.

Zhongfu Lianzhong is headquartered
in Lianyungang city, Jiangsu Province,
and has five subsidiaries in Jiuquan,
Shenyang, Baotou, Hami (China) and
Nordhausen, Germany. The company
was founded in 1987 with more than
