Zoomlion & Riba Italy carbon fiber
material joint venture agreement
signed
Zoomlion and Riba formally signed
an agreement to establish their joint
venture, TOP Carbon SRL in Faenza,
Italy. TOP Carbon SRL’s main business
will be the industrialized development
manufacture and sale of the carbon fiber
composite material parts for industrial
construction machinery and equipment.
The company will begin production
in 2013 with an initial investment of 5
million Euros. Riba will hold 51% shares
of Top Carbon SRL while Zoomlion will
be holding the rest of 49% and the joint
venture will be located in Faenza, Italy.

This announcement comes just weeks
after Amber Composites announced that
its material was chosen for a new automotive build starting series production
in 2013. Amber has been working closely

UK’s first CPC autoclave upgrade for
aerospace composites manufacturer

Atlas Composites has partnered with ASC
Process Systems, now with a UK office
based in Poole, to upgrade its autoclave
processes at its 25,000 sq ft composites
manufacturing facility.

customer to benefit from its CPC (Composite Processing Control) software and
control systems retrofit, something which

Germanischer Lloyd (GL) approval for
its newly developped SE2020 single-end

PFG Fiber Glass (Kunshan) Co. Ltd. was
founded in 2001 as an evenly-held joint
venture of PPG Industries and Nan Ya
Plastics Corp. With four furnaces, annual
capacity of the operation in Kunshan is
144,000 metric tons of electronic-grade
glass yarn and reinforcement-grade glass
fiber. The companies also jointly own
PFG Fiber Glass Corp. in Taiwan, which
has three furnaces with approximate production capacity of 90,000 metric tons of
mostly electronic-grade glass yarn.

ICE - AS9100 Certification

Innovative Composite Engineering
announced that its facility had been
certified to the AS9100:2009 Rev C
Quality Management System standard
after successfully passing a certification
audit performed by Orion Registrar Inc.
(Arvada, Colo.). The AS9100 quality
standard is recognized by the U.S. Federal
Aviation Admin. (Washignton, D.C.) as
the quality standard for the U.S. aviation, space, and defense industries. The
standard includes all the requirements of
ISO9001 along with additional aerospace
requirements specific to the industry. Therefore, certification to the ISO9001:2008
standard is also included.
