RTP Company adds lines to expand production facility in Ladenburg Global custom engineered thermoplastics compounder RTP Company announced that it has undertaken an expansion at its Ladenburg, Germany production facility that will nearly double the locations footprint to 9,700 m2 (105,000 square feet). In addition to relocating a compounding line from Clariant’s site in Ahrensburg, Germany that was included in the recent conductive compounds acquisition, RTP Company will be installing additional pultrusion lines for manufacturing very long fiber composites along with another state-of-the-art compounding line during the expansion. With the additional equipment RTP Company’s production capacity in Ladenburg will increase by 8 million kg (17.6 million lbs.) per year.

The UPM Spain and Alstom create a Chair for Innovation in railway infrastructure and smart grid management Alstom Spain and the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) have signed an agreement to create the Alstom Chair for smart grids, infrastructure and railway signalling. Within this collaboration framework both institutions are looking to encourage the creation of a technology platform for conducting training, research and knowledge transfer. Located in Industrial Engineering School of the Madrid Polytechnic University, (ETSII-UPM), the Alstom Chair aims to promote teaching in this school in the areas of electricity transmission, railway infrastructure management and smart grids. The activity is based on stable cooperation between both parties in the fields of training, science and technology, and will contribute mutually to continued learning of advanced management methods.
