Cleavamine™ and Recycloset™ reworkable epoxy resins with a fibre recovery rate close to 95%
Wuxi Adesso Nanotech has developed the world’s first recyclable epoxies, providing a cutting-edge green technology that enables manufacturers to design the next generation of recyclable epoxy-based products for sustainable growth. recycloset™ and Cleavamine™ products are already on the market. With recycloset™, both the epoxy composition and the components in contact with the epoxy matrix (i.e. carbon fibre, glass fibre, natural fibre, etc.), can be recovered and reused to manufacture new epoxy composite products, providing both economic and environmental incentives for industrial customers. The degraded epoxy polymers can also be recovered and used as polymer materials in specific applications. The resulting components have similar chemical resistance and mechanical properties as those using conventional non-recyclable epoxies, especially in terms of toughness, impact strength, flexibility and low-temperature properties. The recovery rate of the fibre materials could be as much as 95% of the original quantities.

Drapetest, a fully-automatic drapability tester for technical and non-crimp (engineered) fabrics
The forming and draping behaviour of standard and non-crimp fabrics is important in the production of three-dimensional, fabric-reinforced composite parts. drapetest, a new automatic drapability tester, automatically characterizes drapability and the formation of defects during draping and forming. Such defects can dramatically alter both the appearance and the performance of fabric-reinforced composite parts. The tester combines the measurement of the force required for forming with an optical analysis of small-scale defects such as gaps

and curls by means of image analysis. An optional triangulation sensor can determine large-scale defects such as wrinkles. As a standardized simulation of the draping process, a flat circular sample of the fabric to be tested is deformed at its centre by means of a motor-driven piston. A camera with an appropriate illumination inspects the sample at several elevation steps while the sample is rotated in order to inspect a maximum percentage of its surface. In the same manner, the sample is scanned by the optional triangulation sensor.

Composite drilling and completion centralisers with extreme mechanical properties combining a mineral reinforcement with a polymeric matrix
The centralisers are used in offshore drilling and completions for the construction of challenging well designs including horizontal, longreach, deviated and extended-reach drilling wells. The composite centralisers are made from a polymer formulation that combines the highest mechanical tensile and impact strength of a synthetic matrix with an ultra-low friction compound that provides the sliding properties required for operating in difficult long-reach wells. A mineral reinforcement is also used within the polymeric matrix to enhance the above-mentioned mechanical properties. This optimal synergy of mechanical and functional properties combined with consistent production quality is a key point of differentiation between the Matrix centraliser and competitors’ products. Lower friction allows longer deployment of casing and well screens, which enables drilling of longer reach wells.
