Exhibition update The SIL set reconquer In conjunction with the other Parisian trade fairs at the Porte de Versailles, the rendez-vous for lingerie professionals is back with a mildly anticipated new edition from January 24TH - 27TH 2008. The fair will reunite on a surface of 1,580.79 ft2 with over 580 exhibitors and 22,000 visitors, a far cry from the 3.6% drop on 2007 visitorship in comparison with the 2006 assessment of 21,976 visitors. With several new innovations set for this edition, SIL aims to reconquer both French and international visitors. The «Morphing-wear» sector in full rise The SIL will focus on a new sector which is fast expanding, with the presence of «Morphing-wear», offering products adapted to the needs and the specifities of those who require more attention in terms of technicality, maintenance, look or comfort: maternity lingerie, reshaping accessories, padding, girdles, suspenders and maintenance product, with an opening into the post-operative sector. Hence to be found amongst the exhibitors is the new French brand Oémée, alongside Amoralia, Bliss, Body Wrap, Brazabra, Comfort Care and Beauty Line, Emily B Lingerie, Fashion Essential, Forever New, Garment Guard, L Straps, and Rago. ture franchises. Throughout the duration of the fair, there will be in programme: meetings with recruiting brands, in the form of a «market course»; a conference day dedicated to franchise with the presence of experts who are able to accompany, advise and angle future franchises. The old favorites Of course the fair’s old favorites will also be present, with a segmentation of 7 worlds reflecting the offer of the sector: Corsetry with Eternité (about 35% of the offer of the fair), The designers with Icône (about 11%), night lingerie with Jour après Nuit (about 21%), men with Ideal (about 8%), young designers at Spicy Garden (about 11%), the accessories of Spicy Boutique (about 3%) which already met great success with its launch in 2007, and finally hosiery with Grand Jeu (about 2% of the offer). Franchise in focus For the first time, the fair will offer its visitors a «Franchise Course» in order to help brands develop their distribution network or for specialised chains to recruit fu- The Best of Intima at SIL Paris BOI won’t miss a beat, present at SIL at the famous stand of INTIMA/ Network Dessous group. The place for meeting and incontrovertible exchange in the eyes of sector professionals, the red stand will again play host to a series of events and initiatives proposed by our French magazine Intima, like the 4th edition of the Intima T-shirt (see our article in this issue). We look forward to seeing you all there to discover them… or simply to enjoy a drink! The key events of the 2008 edition The current fashions are always on display at the Forum with, this year, four themes: Pleasures and Craft, the desire to enrich everyday fantasy; Bio Creations, when the eco-conscience inspires fashion; Neo Futurista, an ultracontemporary sexy sport spirit inspired by the urban universe; Tendances Homme. And on the avant-garde front, the 5th edition of Ultra Lingerie will present 60 prototypes that will walk the catwalk in front of 850 priviliged guests on Tuesday 24th January at 7pm on the theme of Ultra Modernity. Manufacturers and producer will collaborate to open new sources of inspiration, rewarded as custom with the Ultra Lingerie Trophies, by a jury of professionals from the sector. Other key events for the 2008 edition, the engagement of Eurovet alongside Unicef within the framework of the Opération Frimousses de Créateurs. This operation offers each year to the biggest designers of the moment the chance to design a small doll which will go up for auction. The exhibition of the 105 dolls will be on display from November 20th - 24th at the Petit Palais in Paris.
