Business News Christies’ first store in China In collaboration with Ariane China Ltd, the Italian brand Christies inaugurated its first monobrand store on the Asian market. On April 16th 2007 the new retail point opened its doors in the World Trade Center shopping mall in Guangzhou, southern China: a 646 ft2 space offering the brand’s lingerie and swimwear collections, all showcased on hangers. The store’s sober design plays on black and white contrasts with the brand’s large advertising images in full view. Customers also have the chance to watch the latest collections at the catwalks on a large plasma screen. New Director of Marketing for Bendon Lissa Palermo has been named Director of Marketing at Bendon US/Elle Macpherson Intimates. Ms. Palermo brings 12 years experience in marketing, communications, and public relations including previous roles as Director of Advertising & Communications for Verdura and Marketing Director for both Versace and Tod's. Ms. Palermo will play an integral role in the US marketing strategy and national expansion of all brands. New Sales Manager at CURVExpo as in 2001, subsequently leaving the company in 2003 to pursue an additional Business degree. After earning his MBA, Xavier held several positions as business developer in American corporations based in the EU. Perfectly bi-lingual, Xavier offers a great deal of industry knowledge and international experience. He is a great addition to the CURVE team and he will contribute to CURVE’s ambitious expansion plans. CURVExpo is pleased to announce an exciting addition to their management team; Xavier Le Borgne joined CURVE as Sales Manager November 19, 2007. Le Borgne, a graduate of ESC Clermont-Ferrand, France, holds a M.B.A. of Cleveland State University Business School. Le Borgne started his career in the US, at France Ligne Inc., a business development firm where he worked on the implementation of Lingerie Americ- Wacoal agreement with Benatex for Canada After establishing itself as one of the key players in women’s intimate apparel in Asia, Japan, Europe and the United States, Wacoal, the renowned Japanese brand, is set out to conquer the Canadian market. The brand, signed an exclusive partnership with Benatex, headed by Daniel Gendron in Montreal, for the distribution of the Wacoal and Donna Karan collections on the territory. Benatex was chosen because of its extensive knowledge of the particularities of the Canadian market and the capillarity of its sales network. Daniel Gendron declared “Wacoal is renowned throughout the world for the superior quality of its items and their perfect fit. We are proud to introduce this brand throughout Canada. Wacoal will put an end to the lack of the more unconventional sizes and meet the needs of all those women who do not carry a 34 or 36 B”. The Wacoal philosophy has from the start been to offer a wide range of styles for all women , while keeping prices accessible to everyone. The greater part of collections come in sizes 32AA to a 44DD but Wacoal offers hard to find sizes such as a 32DD and G cups, while being one of the few brands in the world also offering lines for smaller breasted women starting from a 30AA. The aim of the brand is to help women find their style, bringing out the best in them.
