Editorial Going through As long as stay away does not seem possible, let’s go through and try to make the best of it. This is what we had in mind at The Best of Intima while working on this issue: times are harder and we felt we had to give our readers even more . As you will see we have introduced two brand new sections which aim to give retailers the opportunity to openly express their point of viewThe first . one is “Boi’s Survey” where participation is reserved to the best US stores nominated for the Best Shop A wards throughout the years. Many of you did reply even though only a very few allowed us to mention your quotes…the results are nevertheless extremely interesting and provide a valuable picture of what stores need today: definitely better replenishing services rather then new styles, which is somehow quite positive since this means sales are there! This edition also presents a second new section we are very proud of: The Guest. Our very special guest for this issue is Elizabeth Hospodar Operational V , ice President at Bloomingdale’ , who s openly replied to all our questions and her insight will certainly be a valuable source of information for vendors as well as for other retailers. Ample space has been given to T om Garson from Lovable World Trading for his extremely interesting report on the debate organized by the Underfashion Club last fall. While it is not so recent we considered it important enough to be made widely available throughout the industry. How to cope with the crisis is also the topic chosen by Mercedes Gonzales from Global Purchasing Group; her positive and dynamic approach will certainly be highly appreciated by all of you. Once again we introduce to you the winners of the latetest edition of The Best Shop A wards who are given extensive coverage following a report of the awards ceremony and evening itself. As for the fashion part of the magazine, always extremely comprehensive, we present to you our designer team’s trends for next fall/winter based on our fabric forecast published in our past August edition, as well as the new fabric forecast for s/s 2010.
