On 26th November 2008 they became Winner of the East Midlands International Business Awards, conferred to the business that achieves outstanding export success and creates growth and employment in the East Midlands region in the UK. Proving that anything is possible, in only 3 years Made by Niki is stocked in 100 of the best boutiques in over 13 countries across the globe including the USA and Canada. Recognising their hard work , they were finalists at the UK Fashion Export Awards presented by Her Royal Highness and the Princess Royal. Samantha Chang finds something Else Samantha Chang, director of prestigious designer Showroom 1122 in New York has taken on Else, a new T rkish brand specializing in u luxury hand crafted lingerie. Else attracted Ms Chang for the brand’s pursuit of perfection. Each item is created as though it is tailormade, with exquisite attention to detail using rich colors, chantilly laces and Swarovski crystals for opulent design. Behind the lingerie is the philosophy and desire to make a woman feel good, confident and courageous while wearing a special set of lingerie. Else founder and designer Ela Onur is challenged by the changing moods of woman during the day: “It is not an easy thing to keep a woman happy, satisfied and comfortable for a whole day long. Not many peo- ple can do that very easily, therefore I have to work really hard,” states Ms Onur “It requires quite a lot . of engineering and not only design and fashion. The key factor and the great quality of Else is that whole pieces are hand crafted, and created as if they are tailor made.” 102
