The global Organic Textile Standard permits fabrics and garments containing up to 5% of LYCRA® to be labeled organic and further the distinction between synthetic and natural may be less relevant as consumers recognize that combinations of the two offer the optimum balance between responsible environmental stewardship an performance that meets their expectations. Eurojersey develops Sensitive® range Consolidating the international success of its patented Sensitive® system fabric range, Eurojersey released Sensitive® Seric Plus and Sensitive® Life late in 2008. Inspired by style icons, Sensitive® Seric Plus suggests a glamorous return to true Haute Couture swimwear, with iridescent ethereal surfaces and sophisticated, brilliant reflections that evoke delicate shades of silk. In line with latest fashion trends oriented towards elegant draping effects and ultra-light fabrics it weighs only 120 g/m2, with a high Lycra® fiber content (28%) providing impeccable wearability, shape retention and comfort. Weighing a light 185 g/m2, Sensitive® Life promises protection against the damaging effects of chlorine, salts and minerals and other substances such as sun creams, cosmetics and mud, making it a perfect fabric choice for the expanding spas and health club market sector where bathing suits must be comfortable and attractive yet durable. Thanks to its effective muscle and body support action it is also ideal for active sportswear, boosting performance. Piave Maitex spring innovations For Spring/Summer 2010 Piave Maitex is presenting a series of innovative collections starting with PM Bio, the new line of elastic fabrics created using certified, organic cottons together with a working process in conformity with GOTS standards. Secondly the Olympia collection includes Plus and Mirror textiles which prove ideal for swimwear and sportswear while as concerns lingerie Piave is focusing on the « young & fashion » segment with three lines of new products.
