The store is reminiscent of a Parisian salon, complete with smoked crystal chandelier and chaise lounge, lots of brass and gilded antique gold furnishings, zebra print rugs and polished floor-boards. The dressing rooms are situated on a mezzanine level and the rich red velvet drapes may be drawn for privacy creating a sensual shopping experience. Customers are encouraged to indulge in the heady salon atmosphere, sipping pink champagne as the winsome assistants at Dirty Pretty Things work their magic, transforming ladies into scantily clad silver screen goddesses. The store offers delightful lingerie selected for beautiful fabrics, exquisite detailing and a little bit of playful cheekiness. Lines from Chantal Thomass and Mimi Holiday are among the best sellers. The marketing strategy is fun and interactive reflecting the attitude of the store with great emphasis on store events including burlesque, striptease and pin-up hairdo workshops, product launches, preview evenings and the new class called ‘lingerie appreciation for men’.
