AMBA Student of the Year in ESCP Europe !

indsey NEFESH-CLARKE, ESCP Europe Executive MBA Student, awarded AMBA Student of the Year...
Created 12 years ago and organised by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and British newspaper The Independent, the award aims to recognise the broad scope and international attitude of today’s most outstanding scholars. It includes contributing towards the development of the MBA programme, the business school and the wider environment. For the graduating class of 2009, there were entries from 60 of the most prestigious business schools in the world. Lindsey NEFESH-CLARKE, graduate of the European Executive MBA programme, took the top prize.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge, King’s College in 1994, Lindsey went to New-York to work for Human Rights Watch. She currently lives in France and is a Board Member for the humanitarian organisation Enfants d’Asie. She is the Director of their programme in the Philippines, which brings food, shelter, medical care and education to children living in slums. She resolved to improve her business acumen by taking an MBA at ESCP Europe, to make her a more effective manager. She graduated in December. «I enrolled on the MBA because I wanted to gain the business, management and leadership skills that could strengthen my work in the humanitarian field», she says. « I want to work in the field of microfinance, which is about extending small loans to poor people enabling them to establish sustainable livelihoods and lift themselves out of poverty ». Lindsey NEFESH-CLARKE is also the founder of the Women’s Worldwide Web, a not-forprofit online platform that seeks to empower women through small loans to help them establish a livelihood, education, mentoring and networking.
