US market research consultancy Brand Keys released its 2012 Customer Loyalty Engagement Index, an annual survey that polls 49,000 US consumers on the 50 personal-care brands they were most loyal to. Below are the top-five winners for personal-care brand loyalty and engagement rankings for 2012.

Market segments
The global market for natural personal care products is expected to report a compound annual growth rate of almost 10% until 2016, according to marketresearch group Kline & Company. The growth of “truly natural products“ will likely outpace that of natural-inspired brands across most regions; however, natural-inspired brands will continue to dominate the global natural personal-care market. Kline says that in Western Europe the natural segment is becoming more mainstream and that the main opportunities lie in the largely untapped markets of Central and Eastern Europe. It adds that Western European and North American shares of the total market have been decreasing over the past five years at the expense of the emerging markets of Brazil and China. In terms of channel, more mass brands are recognizing the potential of naturals given consumers’ readiness to pay a premium for natural products.
